Smt. Sunrita Hazra, IAS has completed her higher studies in Liberal Arts from Presidency College and Jadavpur University. Smt. Hazra has served a continuous stint as a civil servant for the last 36 years. She has worked closely with the administration in five districts of West Bengal and in various capacities in four departments of the State Govt.

Presently she is posted as Secretary in the Department of Industry, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal. She also serves as a Government nominee in the Boards of Directors of Bengal Gas Corporation Ltd, West Bengal Mineral Development Corporation Ltd, The Lalit Great Eastern Hotel, Kolkata and WBEIDCL.
