    On day-2 (19th December), Prof. Kouichi Sakurai of Kyushu University, Japan spoke on ‘Security, Privacy and Trust of
    Blockchain’. Professor Sakurai has authored and co-authored several research papers on a wide range of technological
    issues ranging from Cyber Security to new ideas for cloud computing. He also discussed how blockchain can be taught
    in colleges and universities as a single course.

    The next speaker in line was the General Manager of the Singapore Division of IBM Corporation, Mr. Rajesh Nambiar,
    who provided fresh insights ‘Towards the Economic Utopia of a Wasteless World’. With over 12 years of experience
    working for the tech giant, it was interesting to hear his opinions on where the tech world is going in the next few
    years. He said “blockchain will remove the limitations of trust mechanisms enforced through human intervention,
    which include vulnerabilities to cognitive limitations and possibilities of tampering.”

    Taking the stage together next was Mr. Junya Yoshizaki and Mr. Saurav Kumar Tomar. As colleagues at the same
    Malaysian firm, Chaintope, they discussed the scope of ‘Quantifying Social Capital With Blockchain’ and ‘Blockchain in
    the Energy Sector’ They discussed how they are targeting universities and colleges where there is a lot of potential in
    terms of harnessing the social capital that these students possess.
