Post launch, Department of IT& E has successfully executed pilot and state wide roll out of Bengalathon. A nationwide
contest has flagged off by Honorable MIC, DIT&E on 27th July 2018 in collaboration with National Payments
Corporation of India as Technology partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd as Program management partner and
NASSCOM as digital partner.
There were 800 plus team registrations from different parts of the nation like Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal,
Rajasthan, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. 117 teams submitted their ideas and were evaluated in the first round. 61 teams
were selected for the round 2 as declared in the workshop on 14th September 2018.
On 9th October 2018, different panels of jury were constituted # Challenge Category Finalists
to evaluate all the 61 ideas. Jury members were further divided 1 Financial Awareness via Gamification 2
into 7 panels. Each panel got a chance to evaluate 8-9 teams 2 Financial Fraud 1
spread across different challenge categories. Participants 3 Integrated self-assistance solution 1
outside from the state of West Bengal were evaluated through 4 Personal Financial Advisor 1
online presentation by one dedicated panel. After 9 hours of 5 Predictive Claim Analysis 1
evaluations, each jury panel have selected their respective 6 Private car sharing 3
finalists for the third and final round. The total number of 7 Riot Prediction 3
finalists is 19 across all the categories. The break up is given as 8 Student record keeping 2
in the table. The finalists of Bengalathon 2019 comprises of 9 Toto on call 4
participants from 4 states i.e. Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West 10 Uniform Reconciliation Solution 1
Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Total Finalists 19
