    The objective of the Data Science Summit is to spread awareness about new developments and trends in Data Science
    arena including Analytics, IOT, big data, AI and related technologies for professionals and academia in West Bengal.
    This provides a platform for networking, discussions and collaborations among corporates, start-ups, academia and
    research fraternity.

    The 6  Data Science Summit, organized by the Data Science Foundation took place at the Biswa Bangla Convention
    Centre, New Town, Kolkata on 10 August 2018. The Summit provided unique insight into creating a data-driven culture
    in organizations, and the benefits of using data and analytics to drive the decision making process. This summit not
    only provided a platform for exchanging thoughts and networking around data science but also provided a positive
    idea about the work being done by companies in Kolkata and Bengal. The speakers and delegates, who travelled from
    Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Los Angeles and California etc, took away the positive feeling about the work being
    done here, the high and intense discussions on technology, business and, the growing size of the number of enthusiasts
    and professionals in such an important space.

    Speakers from across India from companies like Google, Amazon, NASSCOM, ADP, Great West Financial, World Bank
    and academia shared their thoughts around the opportunities that they are working on using data, analytics and AI as
    well as the challenges faced by them.

    It  also  showcased  fairly  young  Kolkata-based  companies  and  talented  students  from  Jadavpur  University  with
    innovative ideas in the data science space. It acted as a melting pot of large and small companies working in this field
    and bringing the cutting edge developments and application in the world to the audience in Kolkata.
