The event was attended by Dr. Amit Mitra, Minister in
Charge for Departments of Finance and Industry,
Commerce and Enterprises, Government of West Bengal,
Shri Bratya Basu, Minister in Charge for Department of
Information Technology and Electronics, Government of
West Bengal, Janab Firhad Hakim, Minister in Charge for
Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Government
of West Bengal, Shri Purnendu Basu, Minister in Charge for
Technical Education and Training and Skill Development,
Government of West Bengal.

The program started with a very short audio-visual on the

Bengal Silicon Valley Hub.

Shri Malay Kumar De, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal welcomed the most distinguished guests. He
expressed hope that all the IT majors of the world will set up their shop, will create huge amount of employment and
will increase IT exports from the State. He made another big announcement regarding Reliance’s coming with a Data
Centre in Kolkata.

On the occasion, the Government announced 4 collaborations with
technology companies for various IT centric initiatives in the State.

The first collaboration is with Amazon Internet Service Private Ltd (AISPL) for
skill development in Cloud Technology. More than 20 thousand students are
expected to benefit from this initiative on an annual basis. Mr. Rahul Sharma,
President and Country Manager of Amazon Internet Service Private Limited
received the letter from Shri Debashis Sen, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary.

Collaboration with AISPL

Next collaboration is with Japan based technology firm Fujisoft for imparting education on machine learning,
embedded technology, 3D printing and Cyber Security. Mr. Renhong Sun, Director, Fujisoft received the collaboration
letter.
