Shri Arun Baid, Senior Vice President, Cognizant said Cognizant is one of the finest
success stories in and from Kolkata and the growth is largely due to the strong
educational infrastructure, rich talent pool, support from the government and the
strong professional ethic of the people from the state. Their experience of doing
business in Kolkata has been fantastic and that they are committed to grow their
operations here. In the past 5 years Cognizant has grown from a Fortune-500 to a
Fortune-200 Company and Kolkata is among their top 5 largest development and
operation centres on this earth. He also acknowledged their Corporate Social
Responsibility Programs, namely Cognizant Foundation and Cognizant Outreach and
Shri Arun Baid, Senior Vice expressed hope to work closely with the government in making the state one of the
President, Cognizant
best places to invest in.

Cdr. Bohra, VP, TCS thanked for invitation to this foundation stone laying of the biggest
IT hub in the eastern region and expressed gladness for getting all the support from
the Government, all the departments which has taken them to a substantial growth in
the last 3 years and look forward to the growth of IT in the state and also be part of it.

government would bring in the best of the world leaders in the areas of Emerging
Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blcokchain, Additive
Manufacturing, IoT and other technologies which would help the state to create skilled
workforce for increasing Bengal’s competitiveness in the global market and this project
will be one of the best technology hubs in Asia attracting companies from across the
world. As Fujisoft started Indian business journey from West Bengal, they are
committed to the growth of West Bengal and its citizens and in a near future they
would like to set up a development centre for serving their global customers and Indian

Shri Ramdas Kamath, Senior VP, Infosys congratulated Hon’ble Chief Minister for
having laid the foundation stone of West Bengal Silicon Valley and assured that this will
take West Bengal to the leadership position in terms of technology in the country. He
announced that Infosys is going to set up a best in class infrastructure within a period
of 15 month from the date of all approvals, which has been designed by the greatest
architect of the country Mr. Hafeez Contractor. Infosys wants to work with the State
Government to take forward its idea of fostering technologically led innovative
business ideas and implement this in its product design as well as in the service sector.
He appreciated the great infrastructure, wide roads and beautiful planning of the city.
