propel India into a different league. Similar are the cases with Blockchain and IoT – with several states adopting
Blockchain, and leading manufacturers implementing IoT to improve productivity. The Government of India and Major
Enterprises are aggressively pursuing their plans to digitally transform themselves.

Tech Conclave” on 30 Nov – 1 December 2018 at The
Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata, focussing on emerging
technologies like AI, Blockchain, Big Data Analytics, and
IoT.
The program was attended by Shri Debashis Sen, IAS,
Additional Chief Secretary, Department of IT&E, Govt. of
West Bengal as the Chief Guest.

Shri Debashis Sen, IAS, said that, “For emerging technologies we are as good or as bad as anybody else in the world but
better because of our research and because of our talent that is inherent in the pure sciences and in the pure
mathematics”.
Artificial intelligence does not work without data. To make
a system understand intelligently, to make it cognitive the
data must be curated and it has to be a human person who
will differentiate the data. The Artificial Intelligence
Companies want to curate millions and billions of data.
The Government is trying to build an eco-system in the 16
IT Parks running in West Bengal for understanding the e-
data market place. West Bengal is embracing emerging
technologies because that is where the future is and
where Bengal has an advantage in running faster by
making emerging technologies applicable in tier-2 and
