There is a shake out of the status quo of jobs people are currently doing. The routine repetitive jobs are likely to be
taken away and leaving space for those individuals to move to the next higher level. The better silver line is that
research shows, by 2022 about 133 million additional jobs will be created because of Artificial Intelligence for coding
and automating whereas 74 million peoples job-roles are going to be disrupted. So those people with those job-roles
will be freer to take up higher level. What is going to happen is to intelligently manage the transition of those people
who are going to get freer from the routine repetitive less value added job-roles to the higher value added job-roles.
The entire emerging technologies, which are going to be a big disruptor, Government is looking at that as an enabler
for Bengal to leapfrog in its economic value add. Government is creating eco-system or Artificial Intelligence. DIT&E
has already conducted knowledge workshops on emerging technologies one in every month. In addition, skill set is also
needed for this new technology. DIT&E tied up with premier institutes like IIT Kharagpur, IIIT Kalyani to train students
in a short span of time and develop skill sets for Artificial Intelligence.
